Bioprosthetic leaflet erosion after percutaneous mitral paravalvular leak closure.

چکیده
Davis nline ranscatheter closure of prosthetic paravalvular eaks is increasingly performed at experienced enters (1–3). The lack of devices dedicated to aravalvular leak closure has not deterred the ff-label use of various occluder devices. These mages illustrate the potential complexity of ranscatheter paravalvular leak repair with the eed for additional occluder placement, and the evelopment of severe leaflet erosion from ocluder contact.

Mechanical interference between a closure device and the rigid stent of mitral bioprosthesis: a mechanism for closure device late dislodgement.
: We report here the mechanical interference between mitral bioprostheses and devices currently adopted for percutaneous paravalvular leak closure as a possible cause for late dislodgement and embolization of successfully implanted and apparently stable closure devices. The images included in this study demonstrate that the topographical relationship of the target leak with the bioprosthetic val...
متن کاملPercutaneous closure of mitral paravalvular leak.
Paravalvular leak (PVL) is a complication observed in patients after prosthetic valve replacement. The incidence of PVL is estimated as 2-3%. The cause of PVL may be paravalvular infection, suture continuity disruption, damage of tissues around the annulus or limitation of disc mobility by thrombus or vegetation. The preferable method of treatment of PVL is surgery. Recently, percutaneous closu...

متن کاملPercutaneous transcatheter closure of prosthetic mitral paravalvular leaks: are we there yet?
A potential complication of mitral valve replacement surgery is the development of a paravalvular leak (PVL). Percutaneous transcatheter closures of PVLs using a wide array of devices have been reported in the literature, although the procedural success rate of this approach remains variable. One major challenge of transcatheter mitral PVL closure lies in the ability to adequately visualize the...
متن کاملPercutaneous retrograde transfemoral closure of mitral paravalvular leak in 3 patients without construction of an arteriovenous wire loop.
Percutaneous closure of paravalvular leaks has emerged as an alternative to repeated surgeries. Different percutaneous techniques and various devices have been used, off-label, for paravalvular leak closure. For mitral leaks, antegrade transseptal, retrograde transfemoral, and retrograde transapical techniques have been developed. In the antegrade transseptal approach, an arteriovenous guidewir...
